How to upgrade and rebuild the linux kernel

  1. Check Current Kernel Version:

  1. Download the New Kernel Source:
    Visit the official kernel website (https://www.kernel.org/) and download the source code for the new kernel version you want to upgrade to. Save the downloaded tarball in a directory of your choice.

    Navigate to the directory where you saved the downloaded tarball and extract it:

tar -xvf linux-x.x.x.tar.xz

Replace “linux-x.x.x” with the actual kernel version you downloaded.

  1. Configure the Kernel:
    Change to the extracted kernel source directory:
